Area of Focus: Economic and community development

Activity Type: Community Development: Renovation

Summary: A Humanitarian Project to renovate the Good Samaritan Mission's kitchen which serves 16,509 meals a year to anyone hungry, hurting or homeless in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.

There is a need to renovate the kitchen that feeds the hungry. The number of meals served have increased from 12,500 to 16,509 per year. Wages can be low, housing is extremely expensive and sometimes the other support systems can not quickly respond. The Mission helps anyone without red tape or hesitation on a temporary basis. They serve 45 meals on average every day. This project is designed to modernize their kitchen. The upgrade will improve efficiency, reduce spoilage, improve sanitary conditions and free up time for the staff. The project will purchase and install new equipment. It will start immediately and take approximately three month to complete.

Ice Machine & Bottle fill Station ............ $ 5,979.00

Salad Bar ........... $ 2,712.20

Rotary members will help serve meals on special occasions and monitor the project.

Please Note: This project has wide community support with three participating Rotary Clubs so far.
