Project Description

Country: USA

Location: Idaho

Total Budget: $2,000

Area of Focus: Basic education and literacy

Activity Type: Education: Scholarships

Summary: Scholarships for one college freshman and one college sophomore

Rotary District 5400 would like to apply to initiate another academic scholarship program that would grant $1000 per year for four years to a college freshman who meets the criteria established by the district scholarship committee and maintains full time student status as required by the scholarship. At this time, we're asking for $1000, to fund a college freshman student (starting college fall 2016) currently residing in Rotary District 5400 and planning to attend a community college or university located within the district or within the State of Idaho. In addition, we are applying to continue the scholarship for the 2015-2016 recipient in her sophomore year. We plan to continue this pattern until we are funding 4 students. Applications for the scholarship will be made available to students throughout the district in June to be reviewed by the scholarship selection committee for the announcement of the scholarship around the beginning of fall semester (approximately Sept. 1).
