Project Description Country: USA Location: Greeley, CO Total Budget: $3,000 Areas of Focus: Basic education and literacy, Economic and community development Activity Type: Community Development: General Summary: Provide audio-visual equipment for new classroom at The Poudre Learning Center in Greeley There have been 7 Rotary Clubs in Greeley and the surrounding area that are spearheading the development of a new Community Center for youth and adults at the Poudre Learning Center (PLC). It is an opportunity for all ages to learn about the interaction of humans, animals and nature. The PLOC has operated out of a small school house setting and has in excess of 20,000 visitors each year. These visitors include senior groups, students from early elementary to graduate students from Colorado State University and the University of Northern Colorado. Funds for the new building are being raised through local resident and business contributions as well as from several large foundations. We are applying for a District Centennial Grant of $1,000 which The Greeley Centennial Club will match with $500. This project will be to purchase a wall mounted screen, a ceiling mounted projector with related speakers. This building will be completed in Spring of 2017. The equipment will be installed by volunteers and the technical department of our local school district. Addendum to Project Description (added after the project was signed) The Greeley Rotary club has joined with us on this project and will contribute an additional $500 so the amount requested from the district is now $2,000 for a total project of $3,000. Input from IT staff of the Weld District 6 Schools suggested different projectors. The staff of the PLC will be meeting within the next several weeks to make a decision. However, the projector and screen selected speakers far exceeded the $3,000.
