Summary: The purpose of this project is to provide musical instruments for students at the Capistrano Community Mariachi Program


The purpose of the project is to provide musical instruments for the Capistrano Community Mariachi Program (CCMP) that offers Mariachi music education to low income children and the youth in San Juan Capistrano. CCMP serves approx. 125 students per year. The project includes instruction,technology,instruments,mariachi suits and out out of state educational conferences. CCMP mission is to "enhance quality of life by engaging our diverse community in high-quality music education" It offers our youth with an alternative to gangs,drugs,and other destructive activities, by promoting healthy families throught the involvement in learning mariachi music individually and as a family.This program strives to help our community to keep our youth safe and encourages them to explore and expand the awareness of cultural arts while becoming confident and productive citizens. CCMP students are mostly Latino school-aged children that are at risk in the community.Also CCMP provide to the students and intellectual challenging aproach to music and allows students and instructors to learn a new music techniques. The project timeline is by June 2013.
