Hunger and poor sanitation touches many communities, especially those who have been affected by natural disasters. Haiti is one such country which has suffered greatly by earthquake and most recently, a hurricane in 2018. The smaller communities tend to be the last served and asks for help. Jeremie town, Haiti is approx. 117 miles from the capital and in need of assistance. El Cajon Sunset will partner with Jeremie Charitable Foundation based in Fort Lauderdale, FL. They are an "on the ground" non-profit which provides nutritional assistance and sanitation items for 2 schools and an orphanage. The children are currently in makeshift classrooms where learning is challenging. This grant will serve 450 children in the schools and orphanage. We will purchase food in the local market and deliver it to the schools and orphanage. Additionally, we will purchase and create sanitary kits with deodorant, wipes, toothpaste & brush, soap and purification tablets.
This expression of Humanitarian Assistance will improve the lives of many children and show them that the world does care.
