Project Description Country: Mexico Location: Colon Total Budget: $62,774 Area of Focus: Water, sanitation and hygiene Activity Type: Water: Supply/Access Summary: Reservoir for irrigation of agricultural field Santa Maria Orphanage is located in Colon Mexico (Central Mexico). The orphanage has about 300 orphans from 2 to 18 in age, both girls and boys. This project will allow them to irrigate their farm on the property more consistently over a year. The reservoir will also increase their irrigation acreage by 30 to 40 acres (from 30 acres currently to 70 acres in total). This will allow for the planting of alfalfa for the dairy cow operation as well as for corn as a food resource for both the animals on the farm as well as the children at the orphanage. Addendum to Project Description (added after the project was signed) Jan 23, 2024 - This project is complete. I am in the process of providing the final accounting and engineering reports. I will have this completed by the end of the month (Jan 2024).
