Project Description Country: USA Location: Encinitas Total Budget: $3,000 Area of Focus: Disease prevention and treatment Activity Type: Health: General Summary: Fifty eight oxygen tank regulators for 22 clinics serving 200,000 people in Bahia de Caraquez Ecuador Retired firefighter Henry Wonsey from Santa Barbara, Ca moved to Bahia Ecuador many years ago. He has been teaching fire safety, training lifeguards and working with local clinics as a Rotarian for many years. He saw a need where the regulators on the oxygen tanks were missing o-rings or just defective. This is very dangerous. As a start, Henry, through Bahia Rotary, is trying to raise $3000.00 to procure 58 regulators (large and small) to upgrade and make safe some of the existing oxygen tanks in 22 clinics serving 200,000 people in the Bahia de Caraquez area.
