Project Description

Country: USA

Location: Meridian, ID

Total Budget: $1,500

Area of Focus: Basic education and literacy

Activity Type: Education: General

Summary: We propose to spend $1,500 to provide needed playground and educational equipment that will enhance the activities of the children at the Meridian, Idaho Boys and Girls Club.

The Meridian Rotary Club has supported the Boys and Girls Club of Meridian by providing support in areas of their greatest need over the past several years. The Meridian Rotary Club values this support as one of our most important activities. Local fundraising has been able to provide needed support for physical facilities and staff; however, many extras including equipment for actual use by boys and girls is needed.

In this grant proposal we propose to spend $1,500 to provide needed playground and educational equipment that will enhance the activities of boys and girls. This equipment will enhance their ability to learn and interact with each other. The Meridian Rotary Club will determine the equipment that is most needed to enhance the learning experiences of Meridian Youth. The Rotary Club with purchase the most needed equipment and present it to the Boys and Girls Club of Meridian. In addition, the Meridian Rotary Club will track the use of purchased equipment and show how it was used to enhance youth education. We will share our findings with other Rotary Clubs within district 5400.

We plan to purchase all playground and educational games equipment prior to February 23, 2023. Our project proposed budget is $1,500. This money will be spent on outdoor equipment and educational indoor equipment. This outdoor equipment will include footballs, basketballs, soccer balls, kickballs, dodge balls and nerf balls. The money spent on indoor equipment will be used to purchase educational board games that will allow our youth the ability to learn and have fun at the same time.

Your district grant project has been included in D5400's block grant application to The Rotary Foundation. It is not yet approved. Do not place orders or spend money on the project until you hear from the district that TRF has approved our block grant (likely sometime this month), as you cannot be reimbursed for expenses incurred prior to TRF approval. Call Marianne Barker at 208 308-5617 if you have any questions. Thank you!
