Project Description Country: USA Location: Mesa, AZ Total Budget: $4,000 Areas of Focus: Disease prevention and treatment, Maternal and child health, Basic education and literacy Activity Type: Health: General Summary: Approximately 50 Starter Kits will be provided to homeless families entering the Save the Family program. Save the Family is a non profit organization that assists homeless veterans and working poor families to become self sufficient. On an annual basis, over 700 families receive temporary housing, job training and basic education. Many of the families entering the program have little, or no, basic necessities e.g., cooking utensils, dishes, bedding, etc. Rotary members will purchase a variety of essential items and package them for distribution to the most needy newcomers.
