Project Description

Country: USA

Location: Payson

Total Budget: $3,000

Areas of Focus: Peacebuilding and conflict prevention, Basic education and literacy, Community economic development

Activity Type: Education: General

Summary: Provide Touchscreen Chromebooks to upper level elementary students to enhance learning, self-esteem-Engage!

Two years ago our Rotary partnered with Payson School district to bring touchscreen chromebooks to kindergarten students and then last year brought the same technology to first grade students. This enhances their ability to learn reading, writing, and arithmetic at a quicker speed and directly impacts the student's ability and dexterity in using a keyboard and computers to continue learning no matter what the circumstances. This year Rotary wants to partner with the Payson School district to bring the touchscreen chromebooks to upper level elementary students in order to improve student /teacher communications and keep the students engaged in a positive manner which helps them to grow educationally but also personally and build stronger and more positive self esteem in the student's ability to accomplish school work on their own with the help of parents, brothers, sisters, community. Another group of students will have this device to utilize throughout their entire Payson grade school, middle school, and high school experience.

Thank you for your application. There's one issue: According to our records, your club did not sent 2 members to Grants Management Training. Please contact Tom McClarty if you feel this is an error. Tomm54@frontiernet.net

Rebecca, we contacted Tom and were able to clarify the two members of our club who attended the grant training which was me at the live training and Val Deedler at the Saturday zoom training so he should be showing us with two members. Please let me know when you get this information from him. Thank you

Congratulations! The Rotary Foundation has approved our block grant, which means we'll have the funds soon.

As you know, you must wait until this point to spend any grant funds. Your final report, which is due April 30, must include

receipts for the entire budget of your grant (gather them as you go along, please) dated August 4 or later. The report form is

available in the Foundation section of rotary5495.org. Please be sure your bank information is up-to-date so there is no delay

in sending the funds by electronic transfer. This information, as well as questions about when you'll receive the money, should

be addressed to our District Treasurer, Lucinda General at treasurer@rotary5495.org

A friendly reminder: The report for this grant either has not been submitted or is incomplete. The deadline for reporting is April 30. Late reports can jeopardize your club’s future grants and delay receipt of next year’s funding for all clubs in the district. The report form can be found here:
