Project Description Country: USA Location: Payson Total Budget: $3,000 Areas of Focus: Peacebuilding and conflict prevention, Basic education and literacy, Community economic development Activity Type: Education: General Summary: Provide Touchscreen Chromebooks to upper level elementary students to enhance learning, self-esteem-Engage! Two years ago our Rotary partnered with Payson School district to bring touchscreen chromebooks to kindergarten students and then last year brought the same technology to first grade students. This enhances their ability to learn reading, writing, and arithmetic at a quicker speed and directly impacts the student's ability and dexterity in using a keyboard and computers to continue learning no matter what the circumstances. This year Rotary wants to partner with the Payson School district to bring the touchscreen chromebooks to upper level elementary students in order to improve student /teacher communications and keep the students engaged in a positive manner which helps them to grow educationally but also personally and build stronger and more positive self esteem in the student's ability to accomplish school work on their own with the help of parents, brothers, sisters, community. Another group of students will have this device to utilize throughout their entire Payson grade school, middle school, and high school experience.
