Project Description Country: USA Location: Peoria Total Budget: $6,545 Area of Focus: Basic education and literacy Activity Type: Education: Literacy Summary: Dictionaries will be distributed to all 3rd Graders in 24 elementary schools within the Peoria Unified School District This project meets the Rotary Area of Focus in Basic Education and Literacy. The Rotary Clubs of Peoria North, and Peoria, will collectively distribute hard copy dictionaries to each 3rd grader in 24 of the elementary schools within the Peoria Unified School District. The goal, once the dictionaries have been delivered is for members of both clubs to place in each dictionary a Rotary 4-way Test label; Dictionaries will be distributed accordingly to each classroom by Rotarians, with the goal for completion of project by end of 2022, prior to holiday break. The funds are to be utilized for the purchase of each "A Student Dictionary" via Dictionaryproject.org; in addition to the labels for placement inside. The Rotary Club representatives will work in conjunction also with administration of the Peoria Unified School District.
