Summary: Coordination along with all 6th grade students in the Peoria Unified School District to send Postcards to space in conjunction with the Constellation and Literacy curriculum
Note: This meets the Rotary Area of Focus for Education and Literacy. The Rotary Club of Peoria North will follow the templates provided the the Club Of The Future program, founded by the Blue Origin Aeronautical Corporation, for the "Send a Postcard to Space" program. The Rotary Club will purchase #2500 pre stamped, blank postcards from the USPS; will work with the Peoria Unified School District, who has agreed to this program, and each 6th grade classroom in the PUSD. The District Academic 6th grade Curriculum has a specific component each spring semester focusing on studying space, constellations, in conjunction with a writing/literacy component. Each student, with guidance from a Rotarian, will learn how to address a postcard, will write a note on the card, postcards will then be mailed to Blue Origin, who will have them postmarked from the Space Station and returned to each student at their home address.

Congratulations! The Rotary Foundation has approved our block grant, which means we'll have the funds soon.
As you know, you must wait until this point to spend any grant funds. Your final report, which is due April 30, must include
receipts for the entire budget of your grant (gather them as you go along, please) dated August 4 or later. The report form is
available in the Foundation section of rotary5495.org. Please be sure your bank information is up-to-date so there is no delay
in sending the funds by electronic transfer. This information, as well as questions about when you'll receive the money, should
be addressed to our District Treasurer, Lucinda General at treasurer@rotary5495.org

A friendly reminder: The report for this grant either has not been submitted or is incomplete. The deadline for reporting is April 30. Late reports can jeopardize your club’s future grants and delay receipt of next year’s funding for all clubs in the district. The report form can be found here:
