Theater Works respectfully requests funding to provide subsidized field trip tickets to k-12 schools in the West Valley in order to make it as affordable as possible for schools to attend daytime performances throughout the season. Theater Works provides the opportunity for K-12 students to experience theatrical productions through field trips for select shows each year allowing us to expand outreach into the community past those that can attend public performances and helps to enhance the educational curriculum in the classroom. Theater Works is one of the only performing arts organization in the West Valley that provides programming for youth year-round, helping to provide access to performing arts experiences to school-aged youth.
Field trip offerings this year will include our productions of Matilda, The Hunchback of Notre Dame and, for the holidays, A Christmas Carol and The Fir Tree. As part of the experience, Theater Works provides teachers with a study guide to increase the opportunity for learning and parallels the curriculum taught in the classroom. Each performance also includes a talk-back with the Education Director. Each of the productions that offer field trip performances this season are based on books. A portion of the funding for this project will go to the purchase of books to provide to the students who attend field trip performances. The Rotarians will be involved by volunteering during performances.
The public will know it's a Rotary sponsored project through Press Releases, Social Media, and signage during performances.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many of the traditional funding avenues have been cut. We are looking to keep the program active, and can only do so through different means of support for the 2022-2023 year.
***If there happens to be extra funds from the District Foundation Team, we would like to request a donation greater than $2000. This initiative serves the entire West Valley and benefits about 7 communities with Rotary and Interact Clubs (Glendale, Peoria, Surprise, El Mirage, Goodyear, Buckeye, Wickenburg, and more. We were unable to find a partner club due to the fact that three clubs in our area are merging/closing. Thank you for your consideration. If the fund are not available, the budget will remain the same at $7500 total, and we will find private funding with our club still contributing $3500.

Congratulations! The Rotary Foundation has approved our block grant, which means we'll have the funds soon.
As you know, you must wait until this point to spend any grant funds. Your final report, which is due April 30, must include
receipts for the entire budget of your grant (gather them as you go along, please) dated August 4 or later. The report form is
available in the Foundation section of rotary5495.org. Please be sure your bank information is up-to-date so there is no delay
in sending the funds by electronic transfer. This information, as well as questions about when you'll receive the money, should
be addressed to our District Treasurer, Lucinda General at treasurer@rotary5495.org

A friendly reminder: The report for this grant either has not been submitted or is incomplete. The deadline for reporting is April 30. Late reports can jeopardize your club’s future grants and delay receipt of next year’s funding for all clubs in the district. The report form can be found here:
The completed, SIGNED form, along with all project RECEIPTS, must be uploaded in PDF format to the project website in order to close the project.
Thanks.

Thanks for your report. Please edit the report so that income and expenditures balance. What you've done with the unspent funds is fine; I'm simply asking for an edit on the financial chart in the report. Thanks.
