Project Description Country: USA Location: Long Beach Total Budget: $2,000 Area of Focus: Community economic development Activity Type: Community Development: General Summary: Signal Hill Rotary will organize a race that invites human and canine participants to raise fund to support the local veterinarian services, which have been particularly burdened during the pandemic. Signal Hill Rotary Club will organize a race on the pedestrian beach path on Alamitos Beach that invites human and canine participants to raise fund to support the local veterinarian services, which have been particularly burdened during the pandemic. The race will be on February 18th, 2023. There will be three distances, 1k, 5k, and 10k. The estimated number of participants for this inaugural event is 150-200. The event will foster good will and raise awareness of the financial and emotional stress imposed on veterinarian care during the pandemic. It will also help publicize Rotary Club and introduce potential new members to our organization. We plan to collaborate with the Assistance League of Long Beach, and they will provide volunteers supporting the race day.
