Project Description Country: USA Location: Escondido Total Budget: $1,500 Area of Focus: Basic education and literacy Activity Type: Education: General Summary: Transporting high school Latino boys and their families for college visits The nonprofit group Encuentros will be taking approximately 50-60 boys and their families on a culturally responsive college campus tour. Students and families will come from various North County high schools. Encuentros will leverage its various connections to the many local colleges to coordinate the event. At the event, students and families will receive a bilingual and bicultural college campus tour, hear from current Latinx students about what attending the college is like, and offer parents a comprehensive presentation in Spanish on college finances and dispelling myths about attending college. The bus invoice is uploaded but since the buses were rented through the County Office of Education, it takes a few months to show the payment. So all we have is the invoice. 10-May-23 by Corie De Anda We are submitting the latest invoice for the bussing to show where the funds were expended. Since the buses were rented through the San Diego County Office of Education, a final paid receipt will not be available until at least the end of June.
