Project Description Country: Mexico Location: Tijuana, Mexico Total Budget: $1,000 Area of Focus: Community economic development Activity Type: Community Development: Construction/Renovation Summary: The Tijuana House Building Project is specifically targeted for families in Tijuana experiencing challenges with finding a home to live under. Rotaractors will build a home for a family in need and deliver it to them the same day. Tijuana is known to be one of the poorest regions of Mexico. Hundred of families only miles away from our city struggle to find a home to live under. In many instances, families have never owned a home to provide safe and basic needs for their children nor themselves. This project will provide funding that will cover the materials for building a small home for a family in need. In the same day we will build and deliver a home with the help of our Rotaractors. Our club has participated in this type of project in the past and have had great success in blessing a families life with a place to live. We hope to recreate that same experience for yet another beautiful family. Members of our club will be framing, painting, and working on general contraction with the help of some contractors to properly build a small home. This project is expected to take place in early 2023 along with other Rotary clubs.
