Total Budget:
$1,000

Areas of Focus: Water, sanitation and hygiene, The environment
Activity Type:
Community Development: General
Summary: Acquire and place three containers for collecting aluminum and plastic waste for recycling
|
Within the Gothenburg Public School facilities there are recycling containers that are monitored and maintained by the local FFA chapter. The recycling program helps keep plastic and aluminum waste out of the landfills and helps keep school facilities clean. The program, however, is limited by the number of available containers. The Rotary grant will help meet the needs of the program by increasing the number of those containers by three. Signage on the containers would identify them as being provided by the Rotary club and would help promote awareness of the club and its efforts towards community improvement and environmental sustainability. The total district grant request would cover 50% of the cost of three containers and the FFA club would match the remaining 50%.
