Summary: Winter Boots and Gear to assist in preventing and spreading colds and influenza in Gillette, Wyoming
Winters are severe in Gillette, Wyoming and Campbell County School District enrolls many children who are homeless, eligible for Free and Reduced Lunch, and are otherwise needy and suffer from the lack of worm clothing; boots, gloves, hats, scarves and jackets. This proposal is an expansion on a project that Gillette Energy Rotary completed in grant years, 2017-2018 and again in 2020-2021. The need for boots has been evident by reports from Campbell County School District school counselors and administrative assistants, who provide the club community relations chair with the number ofeed them.ho may n students in need and provide the the name of one of the thirteen elementary schools to which the boots should be delivered. Each year the grant money has been entirely used and sometimes with more added from the club. In 2023-24, Gillette Energy Rotary would like to add the Youth Emergency Services school (YES HOUSE) to the eligible students list to receive the winter gear and boots. Individual Gillette Energy Rotary members will pick up and deliver the supplies to the various schools. School Counselors will be responsible for distributing the clothing and boots to the students. A portion of the clothing and boots will also be placed in the free "pantries" at Rawhide and Hillcrest Elementary Schools for all students.

Gillette Energy Rotary has not spent as much on boots this year, as anticipated. We are blaming the fact that it has been a very mild winter. However, to date, we have purchased and delivered 56 pairs of boots to the following elementary schools: Pronghorn, Stocktrail,
Meadowlark, Paintbrush and Lakeview. Several pairs have been delivered to the Wright Elementary School and the YES House. We have spent $4,600.
