Summary: Concrete ping pong table in Geiser Pollman Park, Baker City, Oregon
We are wanting to put a ping pong table in the park to provide another outdoor activity for kids in the community in an effort to reduce screen time. Funding for this project will be from three sources, Rotary District 5400 matching grants, The Leo Adler Foundation and the Baker City Rotary clubs budget. Club members will be involved by actively spending time in the park in the summer months promoting use of the table. We also have a member who is the library director and the library is adjacent to the park and he has volunteered to work with his staff to check out paddles to kids as needed. We will also be working with the contractor on the build of the concrete pad and installation of the table. We would like to get the pad for the table to be built and the table itself delivered and installed prior to May 2025.
The quote for the table to be built and shipped is attached. As far as the concrete pad go's I was quoted in a text message from Pete Nelson construction for the 16x20 pad to cost approximately $6500. I then asked a former member who is the vice president of Sid Johnson construction for a breakdown of those costs. He gave me these estimates.
Irrigation moved $500
6" concrete slab $4480
Earthwork and building subbase $2400
Total of concrete pad is estimated to be $6500- $7380

Couple of things. 1)Grant manager must be someone other than incoming president. Please change that; 2)Tier 3 grant applications require a detailed spending plan, either included in your project description or better as an uploaded spreadsheet of your budget. Any bids or cost estimates you've received from a vendor help to inform us why this project is estimated to cost $13,000. Your spending plan will defend why you're asking for this amount. Also, in our recent conversations about this project, you said you would be proposing to build and install two tables. I'm seeing only one in this application. Please provide the needed information as soon as you can, as the complete application must be signed by the manager and incoming president by June 1st. Thank you!
