Project Description Country: USA Location: Apache Junction Total Budget: $4,000 Area of Focus: None Activity Type: Food/Agriculture: General Summary: Donation of $2,000 each, for a total of $4,000 to two different local food banks The Superstition Community Food Bank serves over 40,000 individuals annually of which 56% benefit children and senior citizens. For every $1 donation, they can buy $5 worth of food. Financial donations are much more effective than direct food donations due to their buying power. The Gold Canyon United Methodist Church is a local food bank assisting local families emergency bags of food depending on their family size. Addendum to Project Description (added after the project was signed) We increased the amount of the donations to each food bank from $2,000 to $2,500 each for a total of $5,000. $2,500 came from the District Grant and $2,500 from the Club Donation. We will be changing the status on your grant to “Approved” as of that date. As has been stated several times RI will not recognize receipts dated prior to August 30, 2024.
