Project Description Country: USA Location: Anthem Total Budget: $4,500 Area of Focus: Maternal and child health Activity Type: Health: General Summary: Water Safety Education for Kindergarten and early Elementary School Children Child drownings occur far too often in our area due to the large number of home swimming pools. The Josh the Otter Water Safety Program teaches young children the importance of water safety and how to safely be around water. Funds will be used to purchase the educational materials for the program and Rotarians will go to schools in the North Valley to conduct interactive sessions with classrooms of young kindergartners and elementary schoolers to teach about water safety. This program will be conducted throughout the school year.
