Our Club will coordinate as its 2015 Rotarians at Work Day Project a hands-on, community-wide event to package 18,000 meals in 3 hours using 50 volunteers under the direction of Stop Hunger Now. We will purchase the ingredients, secure the project site, recruit the volunteers and help assemble the meals. Volunteers include area high school students needing community service hours, members of our club and the Chula Vista Sunset Rotary Club, families (ages 4 and up), and community-minded citizens. Stop Hunger Now will provide a facilitator and the equipment. Over 70% of Stop Hunger Now's meals go to support transformational development programs such as school feeding programs, early childhood development programs, vocational training programs, orphanages and medical clinics. Another 10% is reserved for immediate response to crisis situations including natural disasters, conflict and famine.
