Project Description

There was a homeless coalition meeting that took place at Westmark and included various non-profits that work with homeless people. The purpose of the meeting was to coordinate activities to all non-profits and provide them with updates of opportunities for financing and grants.

The Fairbanks Golden Heart Rotary sponsored the Homeless Coalition/symposium, coordinated by the North Star Community Foundation. Alyeska Pipeline Co-sponsored the event, with our Club, with a $1000 donation made directly to the North Star Community Foundation on our Club's behalf. The event was a one-day event to help provide services and a meal to homeless people in Fairbanks. The funds the Club used, and those paid by Alyeska Pipeline, helped pay for the Westmark location and the meals we provided to the homeless and for the coalition meeting.
