Rotary Club: Chula Vista-Eastlake Project Title: Pumpkin smash for scholarships 1. Describe the project. What was done, when and where did project activities take place? A donation was done to Jr High and High school from Chula Vista to low income students that were part of the event. Students from different schools from Chula Vista (14 teams) constructed a catapult using there science, physics and math abilities to launch a pumping to a specific target. It was done November 4, 2017 at the Salt Creek Glof Club 2. How many people benefited from this project? 11 schools, 14 teams with average of 7 members per team. Around 102 students and teachers. 3. Who were the beneficiaries, how were they impacted by this project, and what humanitarian need was met? Students where expose to math, physics and science with the support of Labrats association from Chula Vista. Specific teams received scholarships for the students to continue there needs to continue studding. Basic education for children 4. How many Rotarians participated in the project? 15 members, rotating schedule during the event 5. What did they do? Please give at least two examples, not including financial support provided to the project. Help out with the organization, mounted a stand to promote rotary in the community, provided the awards and scholarship during the award ceremony 6. If a cooperating organization was involved, what was its role? Labrats Science Education Program 7. Income
