Project Description

1. Describe the project. What was done, when and where did project activities take place?

Built two houses through project mercy in 9/2017 and 3/2018, NGO project Mercy. Homes built in an area between Tijuana and Tecata near the US border.

2. How many people benefited from this project? 9

3. Who were the beneficiaries, how were they impacted by this project, and what humanitarian need was met?

Two homeless families provided with 20x24 home for shelter on a cement slab and included an outdoor bathroom facility at each location. Also brought 6 indestructible soccer balls for children play at each location.

4. How many Rotarians participated in the project? 15

5. What did they do? Please give at least two examples, not including financial support provided to the project.

Work included framing, painting, distribution of food and soccer balls, and school supplies to local residents.

6. If a cooperating organization was involved, what was its role?

Project Mercy NGO based in Rancho Bernardo (US) who coordinated building home in a day. Credited with building over 2000 homes over 28 years. Encinitas Rotary Club built 20th and 21st house during the last 25 years.
