Rotary Club: Coronado Binacional Project Title: School supplies for refugees 1. Describe the project. What was done, when and where did project activities take place? Donated the funds to Amal Alliance, a Non Profit Organization that implemented a program in Beqaa Valley Lebanon from October 16-29, 2018. Amal Alliance launched education and integration programs that ensure all children have access to qualify education while fostering youth leadership and promoting civic engagement. During 17-20 October in Baalbeck, Lebanon, Amal alliance conducted a "Train the Trainer" training 30 women from both the refugee population and host community on how best to impact the informal education curriculum and wellness programs in 3 facilities Bouday, Baalbeck and Bedyanel Lebanon.School supplies. arts and crafts and equipment was distributed. 2. How many people benefited from this project? 430 people . 400 children and 30 teachers trained 3. Who were the beneficiaries, how were they impacted by this project, and what humanitarian need was met? The primary beneficiaries were refugee children in the Beqaa Valley, Lebanon and the disenfranchised youth of the host community. The secondary beneficiaries were a mixture of refugee women and local Lebanese women who were provided with skills based training to impact the curriculum and teach the social emotional learning lesson plans that are ongoing throughout all of 2019, This project was very well received and generated tremendous impact on the community. It provided the children with access to education in areas where this is not commonly available. It provided children techniques and methodology on how to overcome the trauma endured through displacement enhancing their social, emotional and mental health and overall well being. The lessons plans provided techniques on conflict resolution and foster peace and integration between the refugee children and the host community. 4. How many Rotarians participated in the project? 2 rotarians participated on the ground an 2 others provided virtual support 5. What did they do? Please give at least two examples, not including financial support provided to the project. One rotarian seek out suppliers in the area. At a graduation, a tree planting ceremony was conducted and the other rotarian helped with translation and tree planting. 6. If a cooperating organization was involved, what was its role? Lebanese Organization for Studies and Training provided the facility for the training, transportation for 2 days withing the training, provided translation and helped coordinate logistics. 7. Income
