Rotary Club: Anchorage Project Title: Rotary Cares For Kids 1. Describe the project. What was done, when and where did project activities take place? Delivered 70 backpacks/duffle bags to the Seward Rotary Club who distributed many of them to Seward Cares Homeless Event in January. The remaining items were donated to Seaview, Seward Police Department, the State Troopers and Qutekcak Native Tribe. OCS has also been informed that they are available and receive them as the need arises. 2. How many people benefited from this project? It is estimated that a minimum of 500 children benefited from RC4K’s this year. 3. Who were the beneficiaries, how were they impacted by this project, and what humanitarian need was met? The beneficiaries are foster children and their families. 4. How many Rotarians participated in the project? 50 or more at the Packing party, which was standing room only, at Inlet Tower Hotels, 16 assisted with the Christmas Parties and foster care boxes, 24 bought gift cards, several helped build fences, organized and distributed backpacks and duffle bags and coordinated projects. 5. What did they do? Please give at least two examples, not including financial support provided to the project. ● Rotarians assisted in our packing party on July 28, 2019 ● Participated in Christmas Parties in Anchorage and Wasilla. ● Bakes cookies ● Built Fences ● Bought gift cards for young adults. ● Delivered furniture 6. If a cooperating organization was involved, what was its role? The Alaska State Employees Association has partnered with RC4K and has donated $2,750 over the last few years and the members are very interested in working with us on projects and packing parties. 7.
