Project Title: Project Mercy House Build

Project Description

1. Describe the project. What was done, when and where did project activities take place?

This grant has been spent to buy a house kit from Project Mercy to be built in Tijana, Mexico. Due to the COVID19 virus, the state of California has not allowed us to build it on the date (April 4, 2020) that was planned. We are waiting for state and Mexican approval to finish the build. All supplies have been purchased and are ready.

2. How many people benefited from this project? A Mexican family

3. Who were the beneficiaries, how were they impacted by this project, and what humanitarian need was met?

A homeless family will have a real house to live in.

4. How many Rotarians participated in the project? 6 -8 RB Sunrise Rotarians

5. What did they do? Please give at least two examples, not including financial support provided to the project.

Club members will paint and construct the house with the help of Project Mercy carpenters in one day on the concrete slab provided. Club members will also bring various household goods to help the family settle in to their house.

6. If a cooperating organization was involved, what was its role?

Project Mercy provides the supplies that we pay for, and guides the building of the house.
