Project Title: Poway Symphony Orchestra (PSO)


Project Description

1. Describe the project. What was done, when and where did project activities take place?

Donation to Poway Symphony Orchestra, to support their music program and promote classical music in the community. Educational program to teach orchestra musicians of all ages.

2. How many people benefited from this project? 45 in the Orchestra, plus anticipated full house attendance

3. Who were the beneficiaries, how were they impacted by this project, and what humanitarian need was met?

Community members from Poway, Rancho Bernardo, 4S Ranch, Escondido, Rancho Panasquitas, Scripps Ranch. Musicians from the Poway Unified Scholl district education program

4. How many Rotarians participated in the project? 20 Rotarians, mostly with spouses.

5. What did they do? Please give at least two examples, not including financial support provided to the project.

Most will attend a concert, and 4 became officers or members of the PSO Foundation Board of Directors.

6. If a cooperating organization was involved, what was its role?

Poway Unified School District, Adult education program. Provided the structure for the performances and training, Under the auspices of conductor and music director John Lo Piccolo.
