Project Title: Interfaith Hygiene Kits


Project Description

1. Describe the project. What was done, when and where did project activities take place?

Project was the delivery of hygiene items to the homeless in North San Diego County. Administered by Interfaith Community Services. Use of the funds initiated in November 2019 through March 2020.

2. How many people benefited from this project? 20-40 per day, approx 500 in total

3. Who were the beneficiaries, how were they impacted by this project, and what humanitarian need was met?

Low income and homeless individuals and families residing in North San Diego County. This includes veterans.

Interfaith provides a range of services including temporary beds, counselling, showers, food and advisory services.

Specifically the grant was used for their Basic Needs Program for hygiene items and food.

4. How many Rotarians participated in the project? 5 directly

5. What did they do? Please give at least two examples, not including financial support provided to the project.

5 Rotarians contributed personal funds to the project.

Also, the club organized a Food Drive that added 1,300 pounds of food items to Interfaith. This involved about 40 members of the Rotary Club.

3 Rotarians also participated in serving food at one of the lunch events.

6. If a cooperating organization was involved, what was its role?

The RB Rotary Club Foundation also added $2300 to the grant.
