Rotary Club: El Camino Real (Oceanside) Project Title: College Scholarships and NHS B 1. Describe the project. What was done, when and where did project activities take place? We provided scholarships for 3 students at El Camino Real High School. We were unable to host the National Honor Student Banquet due to the CORVID19 school and life closure. 2. How many people benefited from this project? 3 3. Who were the beneficiaries, how were they impacted by this project, and what humanitarian need was met? Two High school Senior Community Service Scholarship Winners are awarded $500 each toward their college plans One June Williams Scholarship goes to a High School Senior pursuing a degree in Education. These students will pursue higher education to further themselves and their communities. 4. How many Rotarians participated in the project? 4 5. What did they do? Please give at least two examples, not including financial support provided to the project. The student outreach allows Rotarians to meet some of the deserving High School seniors at the school that we work with. We learn more from these young excited seniors. We were also able to work with the NHS students in a volunteer capacity even if we could not honor them with the annual banquet we have for decades - due to the virus. 6. If a cooperating organization was involved, what was its role? El Camino Real High School accepted applications and arranged the interview opportunity - online this year due to the Covid 19 school closure. 7. Income
