Rotary Club: La Mesa Sunrise Project Title: COVID-Students In Need 1. Describe the project. What was done, when and where did project activities take place? Our club purchased gift cards for students at "Learn for Life" schools who were impacted by loss of income due to COVID related issues. 2. How many people benefited from this project? 20 3. Who were the beneficiaries, how were they impacted by this project, and what humanitarian need was met? Beneficiaries were students who attend a continuation high school. Students are employed part time at low wage jobs and are raising children. They needed emergency food and diapers because they lost their jobs. 4. How many Rotarians participated in the project? 4 5. What did they do? Please give at least two examples, not including financial support provided to the project. Ana Hubbell purchased the gift cards and delivered them to Lisa Youngflesh and Ivy Blumberg to distribute to their students. Ana works closely with students as a counselor and works with them to determine their psychological and physical needs. 6. If a cooperating organization was involved, what was its role? Learn for Life schools is a charter school providing instruction to high risk students. Teachers and administrators identify students in need and give them gift cards and diapers to help them with immediate needs. 7. Income
