Project Title: COVID-Fallbrook 'Non-Event'


Project Description

1. Describe the project. What was done, when and where did project activities take place?

This "Non'Event" requested Rotarian and community member contributions to support three local non-profit organizations. Emails to Rotarians, Rotarians emailed information to family and friends, Rotarians mailed postcards to family and friends, advertising the event in the local newspaper.

2. How many people benefited from this project? Estimated at 1500 through three organizations

3. Who were the beneficiaries, how were they impacted by this project, and what humanitarian need was met?

Fallbrook Food Pantry - received financial contribution to pay for increased services to those in need of food in our community; a number made larger due to the coronavirus.

Boys & Girls Clubs of North County - received financial contribution to pay for employing staff to support homebound youth and their families as a result of club facility closures and social distancing during coronavirus.

Foundation for Senior Care - received funds to pay for increased transportation services to seniors who could not come to their building for support

A total of 34 Rotarians donated $5,960 and 19 Non-Rotarians donated $1,290 for a total of $7,250. The Club supplemented this with another $5,100 from Club Foundation Funds. Total to be distributed evenly among all 3 Non-Profits is $12,350.

The Fallbrook Food Pantry, the Boys & Girls Clubs of North County, and the Fallbrook Foundation for Senior Care agreed to use the funds to support their programs to those in need in our community.
