Rotary Club: Santee-Lakeside Project Title: COVID19 - Santee Food Bank 1. Describe the project. What was done, when and where did project activities take place? The Santee Lakeside Rotary club polled its members to see which local charity they wanted to donate to. The club unanimously chose Santee Food Bank. We reached out to club members to donate, and then with the $250 from District 5340, we managed to collect a total of $1500.00. A check was presented to the Food Bank. We got press in the Union Tribune and East County Times and a video was also produced. 2. How many people benefited from this project? 900 families 3. Who were the beneficiaries, how were they impacted by this project, and what humanitarian need was met? The Food Bank normally feeds approximately 450 families a month, but with this pandemic, they are now feeding 900 families. This money will help them meet that need. The families that receive assistance are all local families in Santee. Now they no longer will be hungry or food insecure. 4. How many Rotarians participated in the project? 26 5. What did they do? Please give at least two examples, not including financial support provided to the project. Donated funds, visited Food Bank 6. If a cooperating organization was involved, what was its role? Santee Food Bank - they received the money and helped with promoting the collection drive 7. Income
