Rotary Club: E-Club of San Diego Global Project Title: COVID-19 Food Insecurity 1. Describe the project. What was done, when and where did project activities take place? In April 2020 a Rotary Club in Guatemala, Vista Hermosa, successfully distributed $450 worth of food to 22 widows in the municipality of Santa Isabel near Guatemala City who were seriously affected by the COVID19 outbreak. This food will last over a month. this grant also provided PPE gear to volunteer personnel who needed it in the area. 2. How many people benefited from this project? 30 3. Who were the beneficiaries, how were they impacted by this project, and what humanitarian need was met? Elderly widows artist and volunteers were the beneficiaries. The widows were given food which will last for more than a month. The volunteers were protected from getting the contagious Covid-19. The humanitarian need is helping to keep at risk population alive and safe. 4. How many Rotarians participated in the project? 22 5. What did they do? Please give at least two examples, not including financial support provided to the project. Twenty+ rotarians from Vista Hermosa Club in Guatemala personally supplied the food tho the widows and transported the PPE equipment to the volunteers. Myself, Maureen Duncan and Julio Gracioso, past president and District Past Governor coordinated efforts to make this happen. 6. If a cooperating organization was involved, what was its role? 7.
