Rotary Club: College Project Title: Virtual Summer Camps 2020 1. Describe the project. What was done, when and where did project activities take place? This project provided scholarships for qualified students. The children enrolled in virtual classes in the summer of 2020 in Fairbanks, Alaska. 2. How many people benefited from this project? Approximately 32 children received scholarships. 3. Who were the beneficiaries, how were they impacted by this project, and what humanitarian need was met? The beneficiaries of this project were children who would otherwise not have been able to afford summer camp. The were able to attend stimulating classes, with materials and supplies mailed to them, which enriched their summer. The classes were educational and also promoted health through yoga, cooking, and gardening options. 4. How many Rotarians participated in the project? 2 5. What did they do? Please give at least two examples, not including financial support provided to the project. Rotarians researched need for scholarships, how need was determined, types of classes that may be offered, and how materials would reach children since classes were held via zoom, and how the program met Rotary's areas of focus. Grant application was created based on the foregoing. 6. If a cooperating organization was involved, what was its role? UAF Summer Sessions and Lifelong Learning provides the summer camp classes, secures materials and quality instructors, registers students, determines qualification for scholarships. 7. Income
