Project Title: Children Lunch Box Support


Project Description

1. Describe the project. What was done, when and where did project activities take place?

Due to Covid-19. the entire delivery system of CLB was altered from its usual distribution system of school sites. A grab and go configuration of family Pantry Box that was configure to distributed at 5 various sites strategically blanketing the Anchorage area for best effect.

The presentation of funds to CLB was made November 24, 2020, at their food prep facility on East 4th Avenue in Anchorage. The $10K check presented to CLB ,$5K matching grant from District 5010, $5K by Anchorage Hillside Rotary Club, by our Moose Marble Madness fund raiser that involved our whole club and many Rotarians and other non-members.

2. How many people benefited from this project? Hundreds of families in the Anchorage area

3. Who were the beneficiaries, how were they impacted by this project, and what humanitarian need was met?

The COVD-19 pandemic had dramatic effect on the economy of the Anchorage area that impacted the under serve residents of anchorage the most. This CLB impacted the ever growing hunger needs for Anchorage area due directly the effect of the pandemic.

4. How many Rotarians participated in the project? Most of our club

5. What did they do? Please give at least two examples, not including financial support provided to the project.

We were not able to do much this year, due the aging factor of our club the risk of contacting COVID-19, it was determined by the leadership of AHR the best and safest way to support was monetary only.

6. If a cooperating organization was involved, what was its role?

We had much support from all the Anchorage area Rotarians
