Project Title: Bikes for Kids


Project Description

1. Describe the project. What was done, when and where did project activities take place?

Our club is supplying bikes to underserved 3rd and 4th graders through the Camp Pendleton YMCA. It took place on December 9th at the base.

2. How many people benefited from this project? 70

3. Who were the beneficiaries, how were they impacted by this project, and what humanitarian need was met?

The Camp Pendleton YMCA and the kids of service members stationed there, as well as those who donated their time and money for the purchase.

4. How many Rotarians participated in the project? 35-40

5. What did they do? Please give at least two examples, not including financial support provided to the project.

We purchased the bikes and had a meeting (safely)to build the bikes then delivered them. It was a secret to kids getting the bikes and they enjoyed it a great deal.

6. If a cooperating organization was involved, what was its role?

The bikes were purchased through "Bikes for Kids" which is an organization that does this for multiple groups throughout Southern California.
