Rotary Club: Fallbrook Project Title: Project Mercy 1. Describe the project. What was done, when and where did project activities take place? On October 24, 2020 Rotarians gathered in a covid compliant parking lot in Chula Vista to build the fundamentals for the home which was transported to Mexico and completed by Project Mercy personnel. 2. How many people benefited from this project? The family who received the home and the neighbors all benefitted from this project. 3. Who were the beneficiaries, how were they impacted by this project, and what humanitarian need was met? Not only did the family benefit from this project by providing a sturdy, safe, and secure home with an outhouse, but also the neighborhood was impacted. Addressing the needs of the community alleviates the poor sanitary conditons and health hazard so prevalent in this area. 4. How many Rotarians participated in the project? 1 Rotarian and her family and friends were able to help in Chula Vista 5. What did they do? Please give at least two examples, not including financial support provided to the project. They were very active painting the walls and side boards, hammering the frames and setting the structure to be ready to be loaded on the truck to ship to Tijuana. 6. If a cooperating organization was involved, what was its role? Project Mercy is a 501 C (3) non-profit agency in San Diego which focuses on the improvement of basic living standards and quality of life for impoverished families. They facilitate the purchase of the necessary material and provide the building plan to build the home. They also shipped the structure, completed the building and handed the keys to the very grateful family. 7. Income
