Project Title: Oasis Haven School tuition


Project Description

1. Describe the project. What was done, when and where did project activities take place?

five AIDS orphans were sent on scholarship to a private school for children who are in need of special education

2. How many people benefited from this project? five AIDS orphans in South Africa

3. Who were the beneficiaries, how were they impacted by this project, and what humanitarian need was met?

Abigail (gr 9 in 2020), Boitumelo (gr 9 in 2020), Lerato (grade 4 in 2020),

Amogelang (gr 3 in 2020) and Tiisetso (grade 3 in 2020) shown in photo. They need special education in order to provide for themselves in the future. This school is designed for kids with special needs.

4. How many Rotarians participated in the project? 60 members RB Sunrise Rotary

5. What did they do? Please give at least two examples, not including financial support provided to the project.

One of our members is the CEO of Oasis Haven and presents regular programs to our group to keep us abreast of what the needs of the home are and how we can help.

6. If a cooperating organization was involved, what was its role?

Oasis Haven is a 5013c that provides homes and schooling for AIDS orphans who would otherwise go uncared for in Johannesburg, South Africa.
