Rotary Club: Old Mission (San Diego) Project Title: Youth Servicea 1. Describe the project. What was done, when and where did project activities take place? We donated $3500 to the Boys & Girls Club for their "Little Jumps Big Changes Campaign". The funds raised through this campaign provide program scholarships for low-income families and allow us to continue offering programs that teach our members how to make healthy lifestyle choices now, and instill a love of fitness and nutrition for their future. We also Donated $3650 to the Copley Price YMCA for their Scolorship Program. This program helps low income families by paying part of their YMCA dues, making it possible for them to participate in YMCA activities 2. How many people benefited from this project? Approximately 280 3. Who were the beneficiaries, how were they impacted by this project, and what humanitarian need was met? Financially challenged families in the San Diego area. Both the Boy's and Girl's Club and the YMCA Help build self esteem and physical fitness. This is especially important with members of low income families. Ultimately leading to a reduction of crime, gang activities and abuses within the families. 4. How many Rotarians participated in the project? 6 5. What did they do?
