Rotary Club: San Diego Project Title: Community Meeting Space 1. Describe the project. What was done, when and where did project activities take place? This was a community economic development project with the opportunity to create a safe space for young leaders in the neighborhood. This location hosted community events free of charge outside its location before the COVID-19 pandemic. This event took place on August 22, 2020 at Cafeina Café located in City Heights. 2. How many people benefited from this project? 200+ 3. Who were the beneficiaries, how were they impacted by this project, and what humanitarian need was met? Anyone will be able to enjoy and take advantage of the community meeting space. People will have the opportunity to enjoy this space either for work, school or just a place to enjoy with friends and family. 4. How many Rotarians participated in the project? 16 5. What did they do? Please give at least two examples, not including financial support provided to the project. There were many things done to create this community meeting space. Everyone took turns to trim overgrown plants, remove waste, install weed barrier, place gravel, painted exterior walls and build benches. 6.
