Rotary Club: Southeast San Diego Project Title: Community Service Projects 1. Describe the project. What was done, when and where did project activities take place? We completed a variety of projects including a school supply project, 2 holiday food donations, scholarship sponsorship, sponsored summer literacy program, STEM scholarships & RYLA. The projects took place throughout the Southeast San Diego community from July 2020 to March. 2 of the recipients receiving funds, Diamond Educational Excellence Partnership & Elementary Institute of Science have not yet cashed their checks. 2. How many people benefited from this project? Approx. 500-750 3. Who were the beneficiaries, how were they impacted by this project, and what humanitarian need was met? Elementary & middle school children impacted by the pandemic, at home learning, lack of food and other basic resources. More than 150 families in need throughout the community received boxes of food during the holidays. Students of color studying law and social justice to help their communities with legal issues. 4. How many Rotarians participated in the project? 16 5. What did they do? Please give at least two examples, not including financial support provided to the project. Collected & donated school supplies, particpated in distribution. Sorted, packed & delivered food boxes to more than 150 families. 6. If a cooperating organization was involved, what was its role? Jackie Robinson YMCA (JRYMCA) vetted families’ receiving the food baskets and organized the distribution at their facility. 7. Income
