Rotary Club: San Diego Coastal Project Title: Support for Don’t Trash PB 1. Describe the project. What was done, when and where did project activities take place? Pacific Beach Rotaract purchased trash buckets and pickers to support Don't Trash PB, a grassroots organization based out of Pacific Beach in San Diego. Club members affixed stickers with the club's logo at a park in La Jolla in March, and the buckets and pickers were distributed to members of the club and the greater Pacific Beach community to encourage trash pickup. 2. How many people benefited from this project? 90 3. Who were the beneficiaries, how were they impacted by this project, and what humanitarian need was met? Don't Trash PB, a grassroots organization that distributes trash buckets and pickers to Pacific Beach residents were the beneficiaries, along with the greater Pacific Beach community. The Pacific Beach community has been impacted by this project as 90 new trash buckets and pickers are in the community and are being used to keep trash out of the streets and ending up in the waterways. By diverting trash from ending up in the waterways, participants are taking action to keep the neighborhood clean and foster a sense of community. 4. Rotaract members attached stickers with Pacific Beach Rotaract's logo to the buckets. Rotaract members collected trash from around Pacific Beach. 6.
