Rotary Club: San Diego Coastal Project Title: Virtual Farm-to-School Field T 1. Describe the project. What was done, when and where did project activities take place? More Students and the general Public will have access to the education behind what Regenerative Farming looks like and better understand what is involved in local sustainable Farming. There is a movement to understand the right balance between the Farm / Environment / Humanity and what that can look like. This grant is helping humanity transition toward a sustainable way of harvesting healthy food without the use of pesticides and synthetic fertilizers, which have down stream environmental repercussions and expose people/wildlife to chemicals. These Video will be on the YouTube and offered by the Farm for schools participating in direct or indirect field trips. https://www.facebook.com/222189114495226/videos/352377722616282 2. How many people benefited from this project? A conservative projection would be more than 500 students per year along with 1000 online views each year (which will increase over time) as relevance increases which will generate more searches and interest for Regenerative Agricultural content. 3. Who were the beneficiaries, how were they impacted by this project, and what humanitarian need was met? The Four Videos were recorded and they are being offered to the schools Wild Willow Farm is already in touch with via their existing Watershed Education Program (includes the following school districts: - Chula Vista, National, South Bay, part of San Diego Unified, Cajon Valley, La Mesa – Spring Valley) - San Diego Unified School District through their Farm to School program coordinator - The Resource Conservation District and Wild Willow Farm social media and newsletter - Various other partners and contacts, including the Girl Scouts A conservative projection would be more than 500 students per year. We have funding to hold follow up Q&A sessions with some schools, but the videos can also stand alone. 4. How many Rotarians participated in the project? 2 5. What did they do? Please give at least two examples, not including financial support provided to the project. Allan Candelore and Jenny Parker. A. Allan was the lead on the project. He contacted local farms to see which was the most involved in Regenerative / Sustainable Farming Education. He selected Wild Willow Farm after contacting four farms. Allan worked together on having the Grant help develop Virtual Field Trip videos to supplement the school Tours and field trips which are costly and hard for many schools to participate in and impacted by Covid 19.  B. Jenny encouraged Allan to get involved and offered knowledge of utilizing the Grant, how and where to apply. Jenny is an inspiring person and an active Rotarian as a prior President in our San Diego Coastal Rotary Club and is a Role Model and Mentor in the community. 6. If a cooperating organization was involved, what was its role? 1. Resource Conservation District of Greater San Diego - www.rcdsandiego.org - Provided the location and organized the video recording. 2. Wild Willow Farm - www.wildwillowfarm.org Provided the farmers and the content for the 4 Videos. 3. San Diego Coastal Rotary - portal.clubrunner.ca/10109/page/meeting-info Provided the coordination of the grant, Funding and promotional video on the project. 7. Income
