Rotary Club: Chula Vista-Eastlake Project Title: Youth Service (RYLA / LEAD) 1. Describe the project. What was done, when and where did project activities take place? LEAD and RYLA funds reallocation were approved to be used as a separate project for the Casa de los Viejitos in La Rumorosa. During a visit in December to the retirement home, it was notice they do not have a water heater to shower the people living in the installations, they needed to warm the water using the stove, during winter time it get freezing temperatures and cold water will affect the held of the people living in the installations. The Club saw as a priority to support with a water heater, the electrical bill is paid by the city government, so an electrical heater was the best route to take to support the community. Club members purchased and installed (with support of an expert) the water heater in the retirement home ensuring it will run constantly for its need. Also, roof materials were bought to fix specific rooms sealings in preparation for rainy seasons. 2. How many people benefited from this project? 40 3.
