Rotary Club: Poway-Scripps

Project Title: The Navajo Water Project

Project Description

1. Describe the project. What was done, when and where did project activities take place?

Our club looked to support a water project. There are many water well projects all over the world however, we found that within our country, communities that are indigenous and in reserve remote areas also don’t have clean potable water and reliable power source for adequate cooking and proper sanitation. Our research with other clubs and water organization revealed DigDeep, a nonprofit organization that has cooperative access to these communities for - supplying underground well reserves which are plumed to solar power and the house to provide hot and cold water and power for cooking and personal care.

Our matching funds were particular support for the Navajo Water Project in New Mexico, U.S.A. in an American Native American Community.
