Rotary Club: Poway-Scripps Project Title: Shelter Box 1. Describe the project. What was done, when and where did project activities take place? Annually our club supports the activities of ShelterBox as we have seen the impact that the equipment, from the tent to the utensils and supplies included, have on a community that would need living relief after a disaster where their home is lost. Our goal was to be a part of the ShelterBox collective in providing a full ShelterBox. Normally we provide kits but with the matching gift we can provide a full Box which has a tent as well as cooking, water sanitation tools, blankets and lighting equipment. 2. How many people benefited from this project? 5 - 100 3. Who were the beneficiaries, how were they impacted by this project, and what humanitarian need was met? We chose to have ShelterBox determine the exact beneficiary as they have a direct feed into the demographics and delivery access of disaster need areas. 4. How many Rotarians participated in the project? Rotary Club of Poway - Scripps and ShelterBox is a global Rotary partner. 5. What did they do? Please give at least two examples, not including financial support provided to the project. As part of the collective we and Rotary provided: 1. A home to a family in need. 2. A stocked cooking and communal environment for a sustainable living during the disaster. 6. If a cooperating organization was involved, what was its role? We have a ongoing cooperation with ShelterBox and rely on them for the completion of our requested shelter box as providers of a specific item and its contents as well as the distribution to the appropriate site. 7.
