Rotary Club: Anchorage Hillside Project Title: Children’s Lunch Box Support 1. Describe the project. What was done, when and where did project activities take place? The Moose Marble Madness sold tickets for a Sept 9th event. The event was held at the King Street Brewery building, Anchorage AK and adjacent parking lot. The event consisted of a social, food, auction and the dropping of approximately 2,000 numbered moose poop onto the adjacent parking lot by helicopter. The closest moose poop was recorded and winnings were awarded. Pictures are attached. COVID precautions were observed. Weather was exceptional which allowed more outdoor participation. Attendance and participation was significant and a huge success. Event organizer was led by Dr Mark Mitchell with many other supporting volunteers. An auction was held with donated items to raise additional funds to benefit Children’s Lunch Box and other charities. 2. How many people benefited from this project? 15,000-20,000 3. Who were the beneficiaries, how were they impacted by this project, and what humanitarian need was met? Charities: Children’s Lunch Box, Mended Hearts—Anchorage and AWAIC Beneficiaries intended for the grant were Anchorage School District school children at schools with children at disadvantaged locations. Meals were the primary item and the logistical support for Bean’s Cafe which orchestrates the program. Auctions benefitted AED machines to Mended Hearts- Anchorage; and to AWAIC for supporting program beneficiaries 4. How many Rotarians participated in the project? 30 Rotarians plus numerous volunteers 5. What did they do? Please give at least two examples, not including financial support provided to the project. Rotarians drafted and sold tickets; solicited auction donations; prepared moose poop; assembled gifts; and obtained food for event. 6. If a cooperating organization was involved, what was its role? Pathfinder Aviation: dropping of moose poop. They provided fuel, pilot and use of helicopter, King Street Brewery: use of indoor and outdoor facilities 7. Income
