Rotary Club: Ketchikan (The First City) Project Title: Playground for WISH 1. Describe the project. What was done, when and where did project activities take place? First City Rotary constructed a playground for Women in Safe Homes' facility. Due to a highly successful Duck Race which netted more proceeds, the decision was made to expend more club funds. 2. How many people benefited from this project? 50-70 3. Who were the beneficiaries, how were they impacted by this project, and what humanitarian need was met? The beneficiaries of this project are the children housed in the WISH facility who are unable to travel to public playgrounds for safety reasons. This playground is in an enclosed secure area within the facility. 4. How many Rotarians participated in the project? 48 5. What did they do? Please give at least two examples, not including financial support provided to the project. Delivered and constructed the playground equipment and floor matting Promoted the project to increase Rotary awareness within the community 6. If a cooperating organization was involved, what was its role? Women in Safe Homes staff enabled the club to access the facility and participated in the planning of the space. Alaska Marine Lines offered free shipping on the 800 pounds of playground equipment. 7. Income
